Movie was great, have seen it twice (once as a preview in a cheapo theatre, once at the drive-in). Plan to see it again so as to get high-quality audio.

CG wasn't overused at all, which is part of what makes this movie good. It was cool, but the script was written 20 years ago when special effects weren't that great. I suspect that might have something to do with the minimal CG.
