v.90 or v.92 dial-up

Hi there,

Yes I know dial up sucks, but I was wondering which is better for gaming. (i.e. which protocol is most stable, gives better pings...etc).

From a quick google of v.90 & v.92, it looks like v92 is a bit faster. Supposedly there is faster uploads with v.92, and the connection time is a bit reduced over v.90. Call your ISP first to ensure that they actually support v.92 (or v.90, though it looks like most do already).

I would say you're in the market of upgrading to cable/dsl speed and it's cheap [ nearly the same cost as 56k were 4 years ago in some case ]

what do you connect at now? 38K, 24K? you also have to have an excellent "phone" connection for v.90 or v.92 will configure and run at their full rated speed.
