UX31a power problems

Our Zenbook was dropped from less than a foot a month ago breaking the non-official charger's jack plug and cracking the jack socket inside. The laptop continued to work perfectly, until the battery died so I thought this was only a power issue.

I replaced the jack socket, however when doing so I damaged one of the pads and traces leading from the socket. I repaired this by running a tiny wire from the missing pad to the end of the broken trace.

You can see the centre-bottom pad is missing and the wire to where the trace ended. I've tested this with a multimeter and this now shows conductivity between the centre-top and centre-bottom pads.

I have also confirmed that DC is getting to the board by scratching away a tiny portion of solder resist and measuring 19V.

However.. the laptop will not power on. The led on the charging cable remains green - it's either telling me the battery is fully charged or it is not being told anything (it's green no matter whether it's plugged in or not).

I've read that some UX31a's have a problem with resuming from standby, requiring a cmos reset or worse a new motherboard.. I'm hoping though that this is just a coincidence and I haven't been struck with this due to the battery running out after the socket was damaged.

I've attempted a CMOS reset, removed main and cmos battery overnight but no improvement.
