Who does this man have naked pictures of? How could someone who directed the abysmal "Alone In The Dark" and "House of the Dead" be allowed anywhere near a camera again much less given permission to direct a movie that has to be good.

All the more reason not to go with someone who sucks blue whale if you actually want to make a good movie.

Holy crap, Alex Garland is writing it though!!! AWESOME!

His bio page on IMDB doesn't list too many movies.

The movie "28 Days Later" was pretty much his coming out party. That's pretty much what his reputation is based on now.

if you actually want to make a good movie you wouldn't be making a video game movie

Well, I should have qualified that as a good videogame movie. :D

That's a real shame. One of the best things about Halo was the story. With this clown directing it, it's not gonna do very well. I could very well be wrong though, look at Lord of the Rings and what that guy (Peter Jackson) did before...

BTW - I kinda like the first Resident Evil movie.

28 Days Later, and his books The Beach and The Tesseract are excellent. Coma was OK.

I dunno. I thought The Frightners was a pretty good yet underrated film. The undead army SFX in Return of the King pretty much was a direct riff on The Frightners.

Boll has only shown the ability to suck harder than a hoover.

Dungeon siege the movie? Even the video game had a piss poor storyline. Hunter didn't seem to have much of a storyline either. Just kill hordes of monsters that spawn constantly.

I bet it is going to stink just like the movies Super Mario Brothers and DOOM. I know some others were made in to movies and they flopped. Wasn't Resident Evil and Pokemon made in to movies?

No chance that this will turn out in any way good. Look at this guy's film credits:

And at this rate, he'll be the guy to put the final nail in the coffin of video game movies when all of these come out completely terrible.

I'm afraid to say, this is not true. My name is Marty O'Donnell and I'm the Audio Director over at Bungie Studios (the video-game producers). You'll be pleased to know that we have accepted a Director by the name of Peter Jackson in regards to the Halo Movie project (his credits include the Oscar-winning 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy and the soon-to-be-released 'King Kong').

I.M.D.B will be updated shortly to correcti this error, and later this week we will release a statement over at our website (http://www.bungie.net) to help clarify this matter further.

Sorry to dampen your spirits, but I felt strongly that this needed to be contained before it became a silly rumour. We were looking for someone with the desire, discipline and dedication that our film requires, and although Uwe Boll was a candidate on our list of possible-Directors, his schedule proved to be hectic and so he had to pull out.

I hope this clears everything up for everybody.
With Regards,
Martin O'Donnell.

Peter Jackson is directing the Halo movie? This could be the best video game movie of all time if true.
