UV Filter Lenses

Odd request but I hope someone can help. Does anyone know where I can pick up a thin UV coated lens? 0.5 mm would be optimal, 1mm MIGHT work.

The uv lens on the camera on my phone cracked (pics still were fine), I stopped at Best Buy and picked up a cheap uv filter lens (looks to be ~2mm thick), took apart the phone and the new lens is too thick, the backplate won't even snap in all the way.

The uv filter lens doesn't have to be of an incredible quality. The pictures taken with the cheap one from best buy appeared to be better than the pre-cracked oem filter lens on my w810.

not sure where you'd get one for a phone camera, i thought those things were just covered in plastic

anyway i reckon your best bet is to simply get it repaired by sony or via your service provider

I believe OTI is right - the lens is just a thin plastic piece that extends the visible circle of the ring around the lens.

I work in a photo lab and we have the film that goes on top of buttons. If the film or plastic button layer is fastened properly, I am guessing it would do the trick. How much could they charge you? 50 cents? If you lived here locally, I'd give you one; I'm guessing your local lab would not charge you either. They're very cheap and we order them by the thousands.

Best of luck,
~Travis
