Cool thanks...a coworker wants to buy his wife a digicam for Christmas, and of course I'm the geek that informs everyone of all the tech deals.

Amazon just lowered the price of S410 to 287 shipped no tax, so it's a better deal for me than dell.

But yes, SD300 is far more superior in size and look than S410. Image quality should be just a bit, if not noticeably better. I think I'm gonna jump on this one and sell my S410 now...

very often, last week it was $5 more expensive (this was Saturday) so only a few days ago, you'll probably only have to wait a few more days or so.

Anybody want to buy a S410 w/256mb compact flash hehe in perfect condition (barely used it lol)

also any good deals on Secure Digital memory now.. 256mb /512/1gb??

Shot-to-Shot time w/o flash on the SD300(1.4 secs) is half what it is on the S410, w/ flash its about the same. AF speed is also greatly increased on the SD300(0.3 secs). Mostly thanks to the improvements of the Digic II processor.

mm how's that for some post-cognitive dissonance :D

appears the coupon is dead, but I'm sure we will see something similar again in only a few more days..

just got this camera, love it, it is only 1/3 thinner than S410, but feels much compact, digicII make everything faster, from startup time, shot to shot, Etc, if u need shoot video 30fps, 640X480 , you will need a fast SD card, otherwise regular card is OK, SD card is so cheap now, FAR all over the place, this camera for ~$300 pop up every other day.

Just watch websites for the Dell Electronics & Accessories coupon, usually they concurrently run some sort of percentage discount (usually about 15%) on the Canon cameras (most not all)...

something strange I just noticed though, the Canon SD300 is gone from Dell's website all-together, but the SD200 is still on there, it will probably come back up soon I'm guessing.... maybe its OOS..

my SD300 shipped today, should be here tomorrow... very excited!

this camera is really too small for me I picked it up and with my man hands I determined it was ment to be a chick camera :D really I couldn't hold that thing steady for anything it was so light as well as small. impressive but not what I am looking for.

Sure does... check the sample video about 2/3 of the way down the page, its a very beautiful video.

Another cool feature of this camera over the S410 and another advantage of DigicII is that the videos are until the memory card fills up (finally) unlike other Canon DIGIC based cameras, and it can also do VGA movie mode (640x480 w/30fps) yeah probably needs a fast SD card... what I need

mine gets here tomorrow i'm excited!

about the size... i think since its a tad bit longer and flatter, it should fit better in a pocket and won't stick out as much (I know, the size isn't really a big difference) I just jumped on it for:
a)better movie mode
b) better size
c) faster (see above, DIGIC II)
d) newer
e) bigger screen
f)excellent price
g) like to keep up with technology
h) like to have the latest gadgets
.. not in that particular order.. but thats what did it for me :-D

just make sure if you want shot video 640X480 @ 30 fps, get a fast card, regular/slow card stop @ 17s, any other mode of video is fine, just takes a little bit more time write data to card, regular pic shooting is ok with "slow" card too. newegg has cheap kingmax 60X card, works fine in my cam

Theres' a new coupon today.. $30 of $300.... however the SD300 is still gone from dell's website..
should be able to get the SD200 for around $240 (just need to add an a filler to bump your purchase over $300).
