uTorrent Comcast - Settings

I currently just switched from Uverse to comcast. I am getting really poor download speeds. I'm unsure what I can do to improve speeds. This is what I've done so far to try and resolve. I tried port forwarding on my linksys router and a static ip on my computer. I even signed up for BTguard and not seeing any difference. I've changed the encryption from enable to forced. removed the legacy connections and I'm still seeing fluctuated speeds.

Does anyone have any advice?

1. Use a private tracker.
2. Encryption slows speeds down. Disable it.
3. Set a limit on the upload speed.
4. Run the speedtest thing in utorrent and check to see if ports are forwarded.

Some programs are known/were known to interfere with utorrent. Like NOD32 I think.

beg for one. or wait for an opening and donate or something.

use something other than windows - it has connection limits that *nix doesn't have - and a cheap router has serious connection limits too.

a freebsd box running pfsense can do 100x the traffic of a windows box in large connection low share (open torrent) scenario.

don't think he needs a dedicated linux computer to max out his 15/2 comcast line. Agree about the cheap router. As far as private trackers... Find one and get an invite or wait for open signups. You need to upload what you download no leech.
