I built my new PC today, and against every suggestion, every instinct that said not to do it, I attempted to just plug my old HDD into the new PC (VIA133 chipset doesn't like this usually). It worked beautifully at first, so I moved the pc from the bench to its permanent home, and upon booting up, all my display settings had been set back to default. This should have tipped me off right away (but it didn't). I tried installing the 4 in 1 driver, and upon reboot, my system was HOSED. Couldn't get into windows, except in Safe Mode. I don't know why I rebooted into DOS to backup my files, but I did, and not a good majority of the documents and such are in dos compatible filename format.
I know this is probably a long shot, but does a utility I can get that will revert these to their original names? I could rename them all manually, but that seems like a lot of work (there are lots of files...). Thanks!
