I have a problem with a laptop. The colors shift to negative after using turning it on for about a minute. It starts out fine, but the screen looks like a negative after a little bit. I think it might be a heat issue, but rather than trying to fix it the real way, I thought maybe I could find a small program to flip all of windows's color to their respective negative values, thus giving me a usable screen. Any thoughts?

edit: forgot to mention, i'm running Win2k

Wouldn't it be better to fix the problem? That's not right behavior. What kind of laptop is it, have you updated drivers, etc.?

Yeah it would be better. But as far as i can tell it's a hardware problem (the problem happens in the bios screen too). So drivers won't help none. And after poking around on the inside of the laptop, I can't see a problem anywhere. It's a AMS Tech Roaster 15 laptop. I got this thing from a friend, so i don't know when or how this problem started.

yeah just tried that today. but powerstrip didn't work right with the video controller (Trident 9385, default win2k drivers). None of the color correction sliders had any affect on the screen. :(

sometimes when i have this problem on my laptop (dell inspiron 4000), i had to slap (hit) the screen a few times... eventually, it will get back to normal, but it's a pain to do, though...

fwiw, i usually either hit the screen side, or the cover side ....it usually works after a few slaps....
not the best way to fix, but oh well.... cheaper than having them to replace the screen (which you may end up having to do)
