utility to check temp?

how do you guys find out what your system/cpu temperatures are while under full load?

only place i've seen system temp is BIOS

I use Mbprobe. It is much smaller with a simpler interface and in my experience more stable. than any others.

If you use linux or unix, or if you're weird enough to find joy in compiling source code and editing one or two text-based configuration files, you should check out lm_sensors

There are lots of little apps and front-ends that can use it to display the info in a nice, pretty manner, too; do a search and you'll find them.

don't forget about speedfan. i'm using it rite now because it's much lighter than mbm, and seems just as accurate with some additional functionality if your chipset supports it.
