This was just reported about an hour ago on BeyondUnreal.com. According to their article, Epic Games is intending to have dedicated server support for the 360-version. Personally, I think it's a last ditch effort to sweeten the pot for 360-owners to pick up this game. Let's face the facts, there are a tremendous amount of gamers playing CoD 4 & Halo 3. How is Epic going to convince these gamers to pick up a game that's seven months late (PS3 timed exclusive)? Well, let's throw in dedicated servers.

If UT3 takes off for the 360, can you imagine the possible implications for Gears 2?!? WTF, indeed!!!

I don't know. Good move by Epic but I'm just not sure what kind of reception UTIII on the 360 is going to get. Muted at best?

At this point it could be to late, but if the online play is hickup free unlike COD4 I could see putting some time in on this game. I'm also interested to see how it plays on the console used to play plenty of UT04 on PC.

Considering the overall unenthusiastic reception the game has got all around I'm not expecting this to help a whole lot. Too little too late methinks.

The only reason I play this game on the PC is because of the great mods for it. If the 360 version of it doesn't have user made mod support then the game isn't even worth a rent.

The game has so many issues out of the box and many features removed from past Unreal Tournament games.

Yep. I don't think it really did all that well on the PS3, I don't think it'll be any different on the 360. UT3 is a PC gamer's game, console owners just don't typically get excited about it.

EDIT: vgchartz.com shows 320k units sold in America on the PS3. Good numbers to keep a business alive, sure, but not even near enough to create a buzz and sell more units on a different console 7 months later.

I had UT 3 on the PS3 and thought the actual gameplay was great. However, what killed the game for me was the huge amount of lag in the game. I ended up trading it end. I still kinda wish I had it, but that lag was a killer.

I loved it on PS3, particularly the fact that you could use a keyboard/mouse, which is usually what keeps me from enjoying console FPS games.

With some practice, it becomes second nature. Just buckle down and play until you can do it.

I mean....I CAN, I just don't like it. The keyboard/mouse will always be better....

yeah im betting this will just flop and fall under the radar... i think UT is a dying breed of FPS.... and was a PC FPS at heart. Plus no stat tracking like all the hot FPS titles now (BF, COD4, Halo...) I dont think unreal can hold a match to the other games unless it really is rock solid... i will try it, thats for sure...but i wonder what kind of community it will attract
