I find it almost impossible to keep up with my ONE. Just the everyday demands of....."talk to me", "Did you clean out the basement?". This guy deserves something for his efforts. Not sure if it is a judgeship.....but something nonetheless.

Utah judge with 3 wives fights for job

Wednesday, November 2, 2005; Posted: 1:21 p.m. EST (18:21 GMT)

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (AP) -- A judge will ask the state Supreme Court on Wednesday to let him stay on the bench after a commission that oversees judges ordered him dismissed because he has three wives.

Those pursuing the case against Judge Walter Steed say his plural marriage creates a conflict: After taking an oath to uphold the law, he shouldn't be breaking it.

"You can't have it both ways," said Colin Winchester, the executive director of the state's Judicial Conduct Commission.

The commission issued an order seeking Steed's removal from the bench in February, after a 14-month investigation determined Steed was a polygamist and as such had violated Utah's bigamy law

I'm not sure I'd want another wife... unless she were incredibly hot and mute... oh, and a good cook.

From what I have read bigamy is still quite prevalent in Utah. There is sort of a don't ask, don't tell policy. Unless someone complains the police don't go looking for bigamists.

Plural marriage was an original tenet of the mainline Mormon church, but the faith abandoned the practice as a condition of statehood in 1890. About 30,000 polygamists, who split from the main church into various fundamentalist sects more than 100 years ago, are believed to be living in Utah.

Wow, 30,000 more than 100 years ago. They live a long time. Wonder if the lifestyle promotes longevity? ;)

The Mormons being forced to "give"up their Religious belief (which is their pursuit of happiness) was Unconsitutional then and is still Unconstitutional.

Based on that, the Utah Law forbidding multiple wives is Unconstitutional and the Judge should get his job back.

I am so glad to hear you say that. My religion requires use of marijuana and demands abortion of children concieved out of wedlock. It forbids Christians from entering my business and gives a 10 percent discount to Wiccans. My children must be taught that the country I live in is evil and the only true road to enlightenment is to ride motorcyles without helmets.
I assume you feel the laws forbidding these things are also unconstitutinal?

Nope. The formula is L / W = M

L is Expected Lifetime
W is number of wives
M is Time of Mortality

Yes, American lawmakers would never let religion steer their decisions, especially concerning marriage.

Agreed, their whole history reads like a Monty Python skit.

The making of religions is fascinating, it's amazing what people with charisma and the desire for power can sell to sheep.

You have quite a mixture here between discrimination and socially forbidden but yes, many of them are in fact Unconstitutional.

Breakdown:

Religion & MJ - well MJ is currently illegal so point is moot. But if MJ was not illegal, then it's your business whatever your religion requires of you.

Religion & abortion - abortion is not illegal, so again it is your business whatever your religion requires of you.

Christians not allowed in business - if your business is open to the public that is discrimination and against the constitution.

10% wiccan discount - As long as a sign is posted so others may have a chance to take their business elsewhere.

What you teach you children is your business - they will suffer the consequences because of you and you alone.

Riding a motorcycle without a helmet should be MY business only and not the Government.

Elect me and make it all so.
