That's why we can afford to get rid of 12th grade:p

It is somewhat disconcerting to know that people can bring guns to the bar, but that's just me.

Good going Utah, that moves them up in my perception. Gun laws don't do squat except hinder law abiding citizens. Thumbs up to Utah!

And D.C., which has INSANE gun laws, has the highest firearm deaths. It should be obvious that strict gun laws dont do jack shit except inhibit law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves. Right?

It should be, but when you look at what makes Americans fearful, and what the do with their fear, it kinda makes more sense that they'd be inclined to ban guns.
Meanwhile, I am still holding on to mine. May even get a 38 special, just cuz I can.

Michigan got a 23/100. Not too bad, but I don't get this:

"For long guns, including many military-style assault weapons, no permit or background check is required for purchase."

The gun shop called in a background check for both the pistol and AR-15 I bought, I heard them on the phone.

EDIT: Actually the police office did the call for the pistol.

Guns don't kill people! God kills people!

See how I turned this all around! :awe:

Oh, and I still would hate to live in Utah with all the crazies in there... Just sayin', yo. (Anyone hear about the law they were trying to pass that if one has an abortion that one will be put under arrest for homicide... Same for even fucking miscarriages!) http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/...ges-women-for-illegal-abortion-or-miscarriage

This is like the war on drugs. When will we ever learn that legislation does not solve anything?

It's already been learned. But that's what legislators do, they legislate. Then they can point to their accomplishments and get re-elected. They know it's not going to work, but it's not their problem. They passed the laws, so it's got to be somebody else that's at fault.

"Maine has weak gun laws that help feed the illegal gun market, allow the sale of guns without background checks and put children at risk"

Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children?!?!?!

Heh, KY got a 2. Not bad...not too shabby at all.

They only reason we got those two points was because of this bullcrap.
"Colleges are not forced to allow firearms on campus "

Everyone knows colleges with gun free zones never have gun crime. Would be criminals approach the campus, see the gun free zone sign, and turn around and go home. There are no school shootings at these campuses. This law works very well.

I don't care about this debate either way, but quoting violence numbers per-state is pretty stupid, as I believe the linked article was trying to say that criminals could buy guns in Utah to use elsewhere.

The whole point of us gun-lovers is that gun laws do not prevent criminals from doing anything. Why? Cuz they're criminals. They dont care about the law. All banning guns does is disarm honest people. So now you've got decent folk who are unprotected, and scum bags running around with weapons they shouldnt even have. And why is that? Cuz the cops are totally useless at actually keeping criminals unarmed. You can pass all the laws you want, but do you know there only one law that actually matters?
The law thats enforced. Thats it, the only one. All the others mean shit.
And I dont wanna be without one cuz some whiny bleeding heart asshat is scared and cries to his congressman to take my guns away from me.
All gun bans originate from fear, and that fear spawns in ignorance. If people were more knowledgeable and took charge of their own safety, they wouldnt be nearly as afraid, and they wouldnt feel the need to lash out wildly, looking for solutions that dont actually work.

Obviously, if legislation doesn't solve something, the answer is most assuredly more legislation.

:p

Now my question is... why do such awesome things have to exist in a place completely surrounded by wrong.

Sigh. The laws of Utah make it so win, but... Mormons, people, Mormons.:(

Because with great liberty and great freedom people will flock to your state to enjoy it. Same reason why people flock to USA. But also remember with great freedom comes great responsibility.

My state got a 10. :(
Though it's points for some of the tame ones. Like a gun store actually having bookkeeping. And not forcing places to allow them.

Way to read my posts.
Are you really that dumb, or is just an act?

Oh and because 2 of the points were from a ccw thing.

My posting style on these message boards is primarily a sarcastic act, if you couldn't tell.
