I just bought UT3 for PS3...everything seems great, but the sound quality is lacking. Some things sound great, others sound like outdated or really compressed sound files.

I doubt it's my setup either, because every other game sounds fine on it.

If it's just how the game is, that's fine, but I thought I'd check if anyone else noticed this.

I have it for the PC and I thought the sounds were fine. Are there any sounds in particular that sound low quality?

Not really...just random sound effects here and there.

I think the sounds might be more compressed on the PS3. The game is generally a straight port from the PC version, but I suppose they had to optimize it in some way.

Also, be sure to get some maps and mods from here. Plenty of good ones that can be transferred to your PS3.

I guess compression for performance would make sense...I just generally think of it as a way to fit more onto a disc, which didn't make sense with it being on a BR disc.

It MIGHT be my sound system...I'll try different settings and see if I notice a difference.

Any particular maps/mods that you would recommend?

Ya I had the exact concerns as well. It does feel a bit like some sounds are compressed.
