"UT2004 has gone gold! In stores March 15th

Hi folks, UT2004 went gold at appproximately 10AM eastern time this morning! Atari tells me that they're going to extraordinary lengths to manufacture and ship the game to have it in on store shelves on March 15th. You can expect to see an official announcement from Atari go out on the wire shortly.

I think UT2004 is the best Unreal game yet and I hope you guys love playing it as much as we do. If you've been playing the demo I can tell you that you ain't seen nothing yet!

Also gone gold is Prima's UT2004 Strategy Guide weighing in at 380 pages! Yes, you read that correctly, 380 pages. It is an awesome strategy guide, certainly the best ever done for an Unreal game. The walk through for Glacier (one of the assault levels) is an amazing 22 pages! This guide is packed with tips and tricks that you're definitely going to want to read.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback on the demo. It really helped make the game better. At some point after the game ships we'll update the demo to be the same codebase as the retail game. As you might be aware the demo didn't have any cheat protection in it, to avoid giving the hackers a head-start, so it is unlikely we'll release the updated demo before the full game is on store shelves for the same reason."

Yeah, gonna be sweet...! Or certainly hope so. I've been playing Onslaught exclusively myself.... but there's so much more. Bringing back Assault... haven't even given that much of a shot yet but drooling to do so............. and all the other gametypes! Onslaught has really tagged me though, along with many more, one of the best 'gametypes' I've seen in a long time. Can be very quick but if both teams have a clue can be quite a battle...!

The hackers have already busted the code.....I saw a cheater the other nite.....a real cheater. Spec'd him and he was killing people easily with short bursts and would end up getting to 25 kills in just a couple of minutes.

This is a great game.....got my pre-order in with EB and look forward to 3/15.

think i recall reading that they didnt put any sort of anti-cheat software in the demo so that cheaters couldnt get a head start on the full version, and that the demo would be updated with the final versions anti-cheat-something-something eventually

anyway, i might buy the game used one day, i only like the vehicles...but not enough to pay full price for the game.

pwning a raptor with a tank is great fun though

Yeah, the cheat stuff is posted at the top of the thread. I should point out that I generally dislike those who shout 'cheat, cheat, cheat' when they are getting their butts kicked in UT, SoF or whatever. I'm sure though this guy was doing it cause the games ended so fast, he was so far ahead, he was making alot of unlikely kills, and *alot* of people noticed.

It's easy to get 10+ kills a minute. It's also easy to get head shots. At least in UT2k3...sounds like a veteran player to me, but it's been a while since I've been in the UT scene (UT2004 will change that in a few weeks)

I've found it somewhat difficult to get headshots. I can draw a bead on some slob standing still with my lightning gun, but when I fire, I just see him get shocked as if I hit him in the torso.
