UT2003 stuttering on very fast system

While I'm playing UT2003, every minute or so the games stops for a split second and then continues; usually when I'm approaching bots. I am playing with vsync on because I can't stand the screen tearing with it off.
I got a new hard drive and the problem went away. But then it came back after pushing my overclock and getting some BSOD's, so I reformatted and clean installed XP but the probem was still there.

But, benchmarks are all great:
14800 3DMark2001
170/70 UT2002
3000 Sandra

Prime95 stable (14 hours).

The funny thing is I never had this problem with my A7V266-E. Ever since I bought the A7N8X, UT2003 has only worked well intermittently.
When the A7N8X worked well I played with Quincunx AA and all details in UT2003 on high except Physics on medium and it was smooooth. Now I use the same settings but no AA and it still stutters. Turning down the detail doesn't help. Neither does reducing my overclock or even running at stock speeds.

Really? I sure hope so. It's driving me crazy. I really want it to be the game that's the problem, rather than some ghost in my system that I can't track down. But if it is the game, why would it have worked well with my old system, and even on my new one for awhile?

I don't think I'd blame it on the game right off the bat. I play UT2003 A LOT and I don't have any of those issues.

KT333, AthlonXP, PC2700, GF4 Ti 4200, TBSC, WinXP Pro.

The game plays smoothly for me.

What display resolution are you running at? And what about sound? What sound card and what sound settings did you select? If you selected a hardware sound setting, try the software selection and see how things run.

I'm using the software sound option in UT2003.
My LCD monitor is set at 1024 x 768.
I'm using just the latest patch.

Thanks everyone for your help. There has got to be a way to fix this problem.

All I can say is that your system is far superior to mine and shouldn't be having these issues. I'll keep thinking about this for ya.

I just tried some other games and none of them work well.

Seeking Tao - Thanks for thinking about this for me.

Everyone else - Thanks.

What video drivers are you using? You install the motherboard drivers? You using 2 sticks of RAM or 1. If 2 which slots are they in?

I'm using the new Omega video drivers. I've tried the 41.09's and the 40.77's too.
I have the latest mb drivers from Asus.
I have two sticks of ram in slots 1 & 3.

Thanks.
