UT2003 demo to be released this week!!!

HOLY HELL! Amazingly enough, Mark Rein just made this post on the official boards:

Subject: Demo should be ready this week

Hi Folks,

The demo is nearly ready to go. It should be out sometime
within the next few days. Keep watching this space (the
stickies) for an announcement. When it's ready we'll just be
releasing it randomly to a few major sites so that hopefully it
will spread like wildfire and everyone will be able to get it from
their favorite games site. There won't be any special exclusives
or anything like that. We want everyone to be enjoying it the
minute it goes live.

I'm expecting the demo to be out sooner than 5 days but
things have a way of cropping up and biting us in the ass so
you never know. It could be as early as tomorrow or as late as
the weekend but I'm pretty confident that it's this week.

I'm guessing Friday night, around Midnight. That's when the Quake 3 tests and point releases tended to come out. I am so stoked for this.

I never was an UT fan, I need my realistic guns, but that new football mode does look very funny. There was a HL map which featured similar gameplay, and was hilarious to play on small LANs.

Well, I'm a big UT fan. In fact I still play UT single player, just to run through the levels (hardest lever of course). I can't wait for UT2003. With all the new features and stuff.

I remember when Unreal came out (didn't like it much), but I'll be sure to give Unreal II a try, that game is also looking very good.

There was a similar mod for UT called Bomb the Base that also featuring bombing run like gameplay.

I'll play around with it just for benchmarking purposes, and to see if the graphics live up to the hype.
I doubt I'll spend any time playing it though, shooters definitely arent my preferred genre.

There are already over 200 mirrors lined up, so hopefully that problem will be avoided.
