This had bugged me for a while. I'm relatively new to the UT world.
But where do you guys bind the secondary fire to? My binds are set up basically the way i had em in Quake, with similar weaps binded the same way.

I currently have sec. fire binded to "F". I was thinking maybe chance it to mouse2?
Any suggestions?

You should definitely bind it to your right mouse button. Using the keyboard to fire is clutzy.

I agree, using the second mouse button works well for me and I use the regular keys w,a,s,d to move around instead of the arrow keys, if you want to pick up some good moves going into a game as a spectator is cool to see how the really good players do it and get some hiding places and moves as well, it is also a nice way to watch people get blowin to bits !!! for the jump it is spacebar. u can try that out and see if it is too your liking, as I am also new to the game this week and would like to hear some other tips from the pro's.......good luck

In every FPS that I play I bind my keys like this:
Right mouse= move forward
Left mouse= primary fire
Middle mouse= secondary fire
Up arrow= jump
Left arrow= strafe left
Right arrow= strafe right
Right control= crouch

I always have had a hard time hitting the right keys if I do it any other way :0)

I have UT bound like this...
Left Mouse: Primary Fire
Right Mouse: Alt Fire
Mouse Wheel: Scroll Weapons
Right Mouse Side Button(Razor Boomslang): Switch to best weapon, usually the Pulse Gun for me. (Eat my burning plasma death! Muhaha) :)
W,A,S,D: Standard Forward, Strafe left/right, and back
Q: Flak Cannon
E: Mini Gun
R: Shock Rifle
Shift: Translocator
Z: Redeemer
X,C: Toss relic/weapon
Alt: Rocket Launcher
Space: Jump

I have some other keys bound for messages, etc., but those are the basic ones.

q - previous weapon, last weapon used
e - next weapon
f - alternate fire, misc macro,
g - reload, zoom, etc
h - flashlite, etc
v - voice menu, special menu, etc
z - drop tech, powerup,
x - drop misc item powerup, or other key
mousewheel for switching weapons also
numberkeys 1-6 are most important weapons

Ok, thanks for the tips. I think im going to experiment with mouse2/2nd fire and spacebar/2nd fire, and then jump as either when ive decided.

Oh, one more quickie, is there a way to bind Proxy mines? I think it should be done in the console, but i dont UT uses the same system as Quake.

I use the arrow keys with
Ctrl = Jump
o = crouch
Del, End PGe Down are all diffrent weapons

That way I can aim, fire move and jump all at the same time

My usual config:

Primary fire: mouse 1
Secondary fire: mouse 2
Forward: E
Back: D
Strafe Left: S
Strafe Right: F
Jump: Space
Crouch: A
Change Weapon (too bad I don't have a wheel mouse): Shift

i have a question about UT:

i got UT from my friend, he burned it for me, and he put the files into winzip, which i have to unzip the files to the computer to play it. But somehow everytime i start/restart UT, it resets everything back to the binds that came originally, how can i change it so it wont reset everything back??

I dont think you need the CD present to play. Couldnt you just install it(borrow disk from friend) and then just play?
