Whenever i try to run UT multiplayer, the game crashes and comes up with a "General protection fault" error message and a big list of error stuff. Both when trying to open a ip location, trying to access multiplayer list, or anything involved in multiplayer it crashes into the error. How do i fix this problem? Its driveing me crazy i love UT Multiplayer!!!! oh yeah and this is happening in Windows98 (nonSE)

Edit: oh yeah and i reinstalled the game and still happens.

did you try and verify that single player mode works correctly? how about running it on safe mode?

link 1 have a little suggestion to debug your problem

link 2 is the support forum... you may want to try asking some ppl there

as far as directX, i know DX8 is giving some ppl problems... but hopefully it's not with your case, since it's a pita to revert to earlier DX

edit: or maybe it's just because you're a drunk engineer.... hehehee.... ;) j/k

did you add any maps recently??? i know i used to get those all the time i got a bad map or two and when i took them out it went away, still get them everyonce in a while, i tend to get them after hours of play (think it has to do with heat problem, good old overclocking).

this thing is at 105F right now, not a bad temp at all. I can play UT in Win2k without the problem but then win2k starts to hog on my 128mb pc100 ram, i just traded a old mobo and $20 for a generic 256mb pc133 stick in the sale/tradeing forum, hopefully the new ram will fix the memory performence in Win2k and i'll just play UT in this OS istead of 98.
