(2 machines connected via crossover cable, Win95b w/ smc eznet 10/100, and Win98SE w/ netgear fa310tx)
A file approx. 50MB transfers in about 5-6 seconds over NetBEUI. Over TCP/IP, it takes about 3-5 minutes. Both ways.
TCP/IP should not be that much slower!!
Oh, and I need TCP/IP and IPX/SPX for lan games, and I just added NetBEUI because I'm sick of slow file transfers.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
edit: above solved, but UT doesn't notice that.
UT(Unreal Tournament) transfers maps/textures/etc. very slowly. It's very annoying over a lan. The current map will be over, while the other machine is still recieving!
Yeah, I could just transfer the stuff manually, but I want to fix this.
Thanks in advance.
