UT frames too slow

OK- troubleshooting with new system, so many variables but...trying to figure out why UT (demo) is runnin so slow. (only getting avg 10-12 fps at 1024x768 32bit)

System: T-bird 800 (o/c at 850- but got same prob when not o/c, abit kt7, inno3d tornado geforce2MX- not o/c -yet)

not sure if its a mobo setting (bios), vid card issue-drivers, game settings, or what...Q3 is much faster

what is best mode to run in? directx?
any/all help appreciated.

probably the mx my voodoo 3 does alot better. You should get way beter frames tho more like 30-35.

Whoa! Lower your resolution and use 16bit. Also, are you using D3D?

You may want to go here and read up on the OpenGL hack/fix for Geforce cards as well.

Well, the answer i was not lookin for- get a voodoo-
actually, UT is quite CPU dependent and runs just as fast on geforce cards (depending on CPU)
And no, those settings aren't too high- See various benchmark scores- 1024x768 at 32...(anand had it running at 45.9 FPS on an Athlon 750).
i was asking about best settings- meant to say d3d before (not directx)...other ideas?

Just a little follow up...
With Detonator 6.34 installed and reinstall of directx 7.0- o/c geforcemx to 210/195 = avg 59 fps @ 1024x768 32bit color...
that's more like it!
