Has anyone here successfully backed up UT CD?
I tried it with cloneCD, but it failed to read some sectors in the beginning. Anyone here has the settings for cloneCD?

thanks

yep,

even though others may not like ezcd creator, i on the other hand have been able to back up everything i have tried while using ezcd...even UT.

i have heard clone is good, and cdrwin is ok too. maybe try burning at a slower speed. imo burning slower is best, but that is just my opinion.

you successfully backed up UT using EZCD? hrmm.. i didn't think it could break the copy protection on it. You sure it works?

I have been able to backup my UT cd using cloneCD, read subchannels and don't report read errors. whatever is reading it has to support these features (check on clone's site). It may say it's going to take a couple hours at first, but once it gets past a certain point, it'll speed up.

CloneCD is your only hope. I used my Plextor 40X reader to read the image and it went well with the default settings. Some readers are better to correct/skip the errors than others, so you may want to try using your CDR as the reader versus your CDrom.

clone CD WILL make a backup copy of your CD. it just takes a very long time reading the CD. the finished product is still fully functional.

Hey.....I have a backup copy of UT as well. I used Nero when doing mine. Go to http://www.gamecopyworld.com and find the Unreal Tournament section. They go into detail about what to do to make a copy of it. I think you replace the executeable with another one and then u can burn it......but....you'd be better served to check it out yourself! Good luck! 🙂

the problem with that of course, you won't be able to patch it later on (regular game patches that is) You'll have to hunt for a cracked version again.

Thanks for the advice. I've backed it up successfully using CloneCD. I use my CDR to read the disc. CloneCd doesn't support my DVD. 🙁

Thanks
