you never know until you try. Probably 1024x768 or so? Depends on your LOD too...you could probably swing 1600x1200 with everything on Lowest.

my system's almost exactly like yours except your fsb's a bit higher, and my ti is 128mb. i can run at 1280 with normal detail....i'd think you should be able to handle the same
off the top of my head i'd say i get 25-50 fps

I'd say 800 x 600 and you'll also have to lower the texture detail three or four notches.

I'd say 800x600x32 (normal settings, all options turned on) is very playable. 1024x768 might also be too.

check out that link. shadows are the biggest FPS killer. going from full shadows to blob nets you a lot more FPS than any others setting such as world detail, decal, etc... going from full to no shadows at all will net you even more FPS. i recommend getting rid of shadows alltogether. even games like KOTOR, i get slideshow using shadows, once i take it out, it runs smooth.

Yeah I disable shadows everwhere. They suck up a low of resources and don't really deliver anything special in return.

try running it in 16bit color instead of 32bit. hardly any quality loss, but a huge gain in fps.

Ummmm considering I could run that game at 1024 x 768 very nicely on my cousin's geforce 4 mx 420, I'm gonna hafta go and say that BFG is wrong here. You can most certainly run that game at 1024 x 768 on a geforce 4 Ti, just set everything on normal, turn shadows to blob, disable pre-load skins, and enjoy :)

Unlikely. In fact you might even lose performance.

Yeah? Enable the framerate counter on the ice level and let me know what kind of FPS you're getting.

FPS is great for bragging and all, but when youre playing the game fps means jack shiggidy unless theyre at a rediculously low level. And don't be so quick to judge the mx420, his model came with a humungous heatsink, and 64MB of samsung DDR, it oc'd to 400 MHz on the memory, and 295 on the core. For a card he got completely free, id say its doing its' job. Now contrast that with a vastly superior Ti 4200, and with the same reasonable settings I ran the game on with the mx 420, you will see a much better performing Ti 4200 no? :) And like what was said earlier, Shady's rig isn't exactly "stock" i'm sure he's done his fair share of tweaking.
