Somehow I get the message that a speed hack is detected on my system. I never d/l anything like this and have no cheats on my system. It must have been d/l from some game level on the net. How do I find what file it is and how do I get rid of it ? Could it be something that I accidently checked in one of the settings?
I guess I could re-install the game, but I hate to lose all the levels that are already played .

I've seen that before and I'm 100% cheat free too. I think the code to detect that hack must be flawed.

But I just saw something in UT2004 today that could've made me cry. An aim bot user. I've never seen it before in 2003/2004... damn it was good times... good times that are over I guess.

I don't know how to tell if they are using a cheat. Sometimes they can jump in the air and shoot me before I even get a chance to take aim on them. They are so fast, they must have some help. Of course I am not very good and these young kids are much faster then I am. Aim bot?? sounds interesting could I use it against my grandson, he is 9 and much faster than I. Anyway, this speed hack causes me to pause for about ten seconds in the game very often. Always get killed. I don't know where it came from.

Lag can actually trigger Speed Hack detection. I wouldn't worry about it and I don't think it can be removed as it's an anti-cheat measure provided by Epic not an option that you can toggle.

No, this guy was blatantly hacking. Everyone knew. Please don't try to use it =/

EDIT: He would lock onto you and NOT miss whenever using an instant-hit weapon (Lit-gun, Shock gun, sniper rifle, etc). However, he sucked with guns that have moving projectiles (flak). You could run, and he's shoot right beside you. If he was actually a pro and not a cheater he'd have no problem with the flak.

What are you talking about UT2k3 and 4 BARELY have cheat protection they have checksum cheat protection. There are a whole slew of cheaters for the games! :(

I was just kidding about using it with my grandson. I wouldn't even know where to get it or how to use it.
Why buy a game that you want to cheat to win.
I just don't know how this speed hack got into my computer. We have been playing on the same server for months and it has not been here.

It's a bug I think. It happened to me once while playing and I asked about it on the server chat and they said just to ignore it and that it was a known bug.

I don't have UT2004 so this might be irrelevant.

In BFV I was getting kicked left and right by Punk Buster. I ended up going to the PB website and downloading the manual update tool. Apparently my firewall was preventing the autoupdate process while within the game. Ever since I did it manually I haven't been kicked. Maybe the UT anti-cheat update process is hanging on your firewall or isn't happening for some reason?

It's hard to ignore, when it stops you for about 10 seconds every minute or so. It happened on any server I tried. Tonight it hasn't happened at all. I guess it's a bug, but not in my machine, so it's ok.
Thanks for all the support and advice.

That's why i stopped playing these multiplayer games... you don't know if it's really because they're that good, or because they're cheating with aimbots. I wished there were more 'official' servers, like the old AT server, old Matrox board server, etc. Then at least if you're part of some sort of community, there's a lot less chance of it happening than just randomly selecting a server.

Yes, but you wouldn't believe how many times you get told you hack if you happen to be decent at an online game. It's quite annoying.
