Hi

I have:
1.7willamette 478s
256mb simmtronics sd 133 p4
128mb radeon 9800pro
i845 mb

My comp runs ut 2004 demo @

640*480*16*low,deathmath @about 40+fps
assault @ 20 + fps

Isn't assault slow

1) You have a slow CPU
2) You have only 256MB of memory
3) You have PC133 SDR-SDRAM instead of DDR-SDRAM

and wernt the willametes worse than the pentium 3's?
UT needs at least 512 ram, and it seems it really likes a gig of ram to run smooth
you would of been better of with a tnt2

the graphics card u have way exceedes your system, a 9800pro should manage 12x10 with some aa and af with all the features turned on

UT is a very cpu/ram dependant game, the graphics while nice are still dx7/dx8 grade but its the physics and stuff that need the cpu horse power.

for that150-200 u spent on the 9800pro u should and could of got a decent athlon xp cpu, mobo and a 512stick of ram which would of been the better upgrade

WTF! dude seriously you should check into that! I can play it just peachily on my 1.0 celly, 256 pc 100 and a geforce 4 mx 420, pci and i get a pretty good clip. not 100fps, but still good n pretty. that's a bit wierd, but perhapos the willy is to blame..

Early P4's are pretty crap, but even so, you should probably be getting higher frame rates... check drivers, etc, make sure there's nothing screwing up your Windows install...

I know a 1.7 willamette and 256mb of PC133 isn't much but you should still be able to play it fine at lowish settings, especially with a 9800 Pro..
