I toured a boat kinda like that in San Diego. The one I toured, though, opened up at both ends so that they could put smaller ships/boats completely inside it. It had a deck on top w/ helipads on it. I can't remember the name of it, but it was about 600 feet long and owned by the US Navy... and it had armed helicopters on it... It was cool.

Was it This cause that is what I was on when I did my tour.
USS AUSTIN LPD-4

When did you tour. My dad was CO of Duluth (after flying Rotors for 28 years).

No Irish blood in YOU I guess! ;)
Nope, I am 100% English.

Funny thing, William Wallace wasn't Irish either...

That would make sense because he was fighting for Scotland...

wow, forgot about that.

You'd think after two attacks from the same group of people you'd go after them :|:|:|

I'm really starting to think that Clinton was too afraid to do anything because it might make the economy hiccup a bit.

On the history channel they have a series of shows for the past week about Iraq. Tonight was about the CIA and Saddam, and all the different tactics the CIA could have/should have used to take Saddam out. A former CIA Case Officers who worked on the Saddam case said that with oil prices being $12/barrel, Clinton didn't want to take a chance at killing Saddam with a fear that oil prices might rise

That's actually one of the smallest transport ships in existence. I watched this thing on TLC about how they used the biggest one in existence to transport the lower half of a HUGE oil rig into the Gulf of Mexico (ship had to outrun a hurricane to do it...not an easy task!!!)

Guess it would bite big time if they didn't get the Cole tied on tightly enough and hat it slip over the side.

Alright you guys. I don't like Clinton any better than the next patriotic American, but......

From snopes.com
Claim: The Clinton administration failed to track down the perpetrators of several terrorist attacks against Americans.

Status: False.

More blame Clinton crowd

It was in Oct 2000, a couple months before Bush took office. You are saying Clinton should have started a war in the last 2 months of his presidency that he wouldn't be able to finish? What stopped Bush from going after Al Qaeda for USS Cole? Did Bush do anything about terrorism before 9/11/01? If he did, we wouldn't be talking about that date.

Yeah, think about it... Norwegians have an entire fleet of those things. They could just sneak in at night and STEAL the entire US navy!!! :Q

"Whatta H..., where's my Cruiser. I'm sure I parked it here!"

Wow that was cool, I didn't expect that 'square' thing sticking out of the water to be the freighter's bow!

And check out those gargantuan jack stands, I wonder if you can pick a pair of those up at Autozone? :Q
