USR 56K will NOT install properly. PLEASE help.

THis modem will not install porperly to Com2.
So I said fine, com5... but it just isnt working right AT ALL. Please please help.
My downloads are @ 1.8k and it's LAME.
When I first had this computer running, I had it @ 4k downloads, and now it's borked since my last format..
What do I do?

OK...goto your Win9* device manager, highlight the modem, click Remove, click OK. Reboot the machine into your BIOS.
You have 2 COM ports on the machine. Find COM2 and change it to disabled. Save the BIOS changes and exit BIOS.
Reboot, Win9* should now see the modem on boot up and ask for drivers from disk (C/D). Install drivers from disk (C/D).
