Lol. I just got the mail- a DVD I ordered, shipped 6 mos ago showed up (thought it was lost, store shipped replacement).

Funny thing is that on the box is stamped "Sorry for damaging your item" by my local post office, yet the box is intact, just open a little.

Well, it took a while for me to get around to pirating the movie. Sorry about that, I'll try to be faster next time.

Just where was it for 6mos? I always wonder if these things are sitting on the floor somewhere, under some equipment and they find it while cleaning?

It's not like the box was damaged in any way or the address was illegible.

Mine was in perfect shape when it arrived as well. I assumed what happened is what you guessed.

Reminds me of those letters that make the news every now and then that are delivered incredibly late like 30 or 40 years later. Makes you wonder where in the hell they were sitting around for so damn long. I recently read about one that had been sent around ten years or so ago wishing a family a Merry Christmas (I think) and arrived after the original sender had long since died. The recipients were glad to receive the reminder of the past from their friend, though.

I had a package get lost for 3 months or so. The post office finally tracked it down and delivered it, which despite the petty complaints really says something about the postal service. It tells me that at least they aren't throwing our mail away, or letting it pile up somewhere (a la Newman in Sienfield).
