USPS surprised me today

I received an express mail package today - the post office called to make sure I was home, then she (PO employee) stopped by several minutes later to deliver the package -- on a Sunday, no less. I assume this is a small-town thing (population is in the hundreds)..or does this happen everywhere?

Anyway, USPS just went up a notch in my book - at least on the local end. 🙂

Nope... never called me.

i think some packages would arrive on sunday if it's urgent, isn't that correct?

but yeah, you scored. 🙂

There's a post office a few blocks away, and when I was mailing a Newegg RMA, a guy was in there to pick up his package. The driver wasn't back yet, but one of the ladies working there said to come back about an hour after they closed, and she'd give him the package. <3 communism.

Did the sender pay for overnight or 2nd day delivery?

Express mail. They say overnight, but it was from NH to FL, and they said it should be here Monday (shipped Friday..apparently they can't do overnight from NH to FL).

Express Mail is delivered 365 days a year. I've actually received EM packages and envelopes on Holidays.

Nice..didn't know that. 🙂
