what the...I've been seeing the same message for the past two days...is this cuz my package hasn't been sent or just cuz the USPS shipping tracking notification is struggling?

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on July 24, 2003 to expect your package for mailing. Status is updated every evening. Please check again later.

i called svc and they said my order should be sent...what's goin on here?

That's just for delivery confirmation - so you know when it's been delivered. Otherwise, you won't know where it is.

oh aight thanks guys...so of you who've ordered from SVC and had USPS priority shipping [the cheapest one], the shipping notification only told you if it has been delivered and won't tell you WHERE the package is?

Occasionally when I use DC with Priority Mail, it'll tell me when it gets to MAJOR postal distribution centers. It'll look like this:

USPS notified, etc.
Arrived at Chicago.
Mail has been delivered.

So it's really minimal tracking type information.

I think DC tracking numbers only work if the PO scans them as they move along. Otherwise it just tells you the package has been delivered (hopefully). I got a PM Friday that a package arrived and the DC number is still showing it to be @ the PO waiting for delivery today. Many, many times I try to track by DC and nothing shows until it is delivered.

so basically, if a PO worker doesn't scan my package, i won't see my package's shipping status. dangit haha.

so how long does usps priority, based on your past experiences, take to get packages from svc to the east coast?

i'm not sure that i got the DC service either cuz i just entered regular priority mail for shipping..

It's 2-3 days average, isn't it? Plus, it's great that USPS delivers on Saturday - that makes them tops in my book for cheap shipping.

oh really? but they gave me a tracking number

delivery confirmation isn't tracking and is basically worthless, it doesn't mean crap
they deliver stuff all the time that never gets scanned and stuff gets lost between them scanning at the post office and the carrier actually leaving it somewhere (like at the wrong place)
