USPS question

i'm gonna ship something out tomorrow. in fact, it's an RMA. i already got the number and OK from the company. anyway...

i know USPS has priority mail which comes with a free box to put my stuff in. can i just take my item and peanuts to the USPS post office and pack it there? or do i have to go to the post office, get the box, bring it home, pack it, and then go back? i've never used priority mail before so any insight would be much appreciated!

thanx

I don't see why you couldn't.

I didn't think they gave out the boxes for free at the PO but I may be wrong. I just order them online (totally free).

Yep, they even have free tape chipy! 🙂

TGhe Po will have no problem as long as you do not disrupt service.

At worse, pick up the box and pack it in your vehicle.

thanx everyone. i've never seen anyone pack anything at the PO... seems a little weird to me. i'll try not to look like a weirdo 😛

Just make sure it's not a bomb.

It won't help for this mailing, but I get free priority mail boxes and tape from the USPS web site. They will send you FREE priority mail boxes and tape -- the catch is you can only use them for mailing priority mail class. However, that's what I use for 90% of my shipping, anyhow. Since I can get them to send me free supplies, I'm more likely to ship priority mail (although I like the service anyhow) -- after all, I've got a pile of ready-to-go boxes.

hey guys

i went to the PO and packed my stuff there. no problems.

btw, i asked the lady that helped me about the pricing and she said it depends on the weight and destination. i read somewhere that they might have a one-price for all priority mail. can anyone verify this and give me details or send me a link?

thanx

There are 2 types of flat rate priority mail boxes. I'm at work right now, so I can't tell you the model numbers. Maybe I can look online... Found them. They are $8.10, priority shipping. If you purchase the label online, you get free confirmation.
