My last 6 shipments using USPS prority mail haven't gotten to their locations in the 2-3 day timeframe they suggest. But more like in 6 business days cross country. Any reason for the recent slowdowns? Anyone else?

According to the USPS my latest shipment from AE from delivered on Jan 21. Well I have nothing to show for it yet. No package warning or anything and I was home all day on the 21.

I drop off my packages in the standard blue box for US mail. Could this be a problem? I was told that it wouldn't be a problem by my local PO. Im just sending 1lb paperbacks or DVD's, so its not too costly for 2-3 day delivery (if 2-3 days)

For light items like that I use 1st class mail - it's about a day slower than Priority but costs less ($1-2 compared to ~$4 for PM)

One time it took me about 9 days to receive a package about 2/3 cross country by going through 1st class - USPS Priority always is 2-3 days for me. - I sell a lot on eBay, and most of my buyers usually receive their package in 2 days, the other 20-30% receive theirs on the 3rd day.. never seen a 4th day.

Most of the packages I've mailed via USPS Priority mail have reached their destinations within 3 days, though several packages travelling further distances have taken 4-5 days.
