Hey guys,

Now I ordered a package from ComponentAuthority.Com on the 31st of September. Now they shipped it out on Oct 2nd. I live in Renton, WA and the package comes from the City of Industry in CA. Now its Oct 10th and guess what. Still no package. USPS tracking system is horrible unlike UPS' awesome tracking system (UPS is simply the best at their tracking. Unlike FedEx it even says when the package arrives). Priority mail usually takes about 2-3 days. Now its been 8 days. Anything I can do? Plus what are your experiences with USPS Priority mail?? Couldn't resist asking.

Priority's worked pretty good for me in spite of the recent events. I still haven't had something sent priority take more than 3 days to get where it's going

I have always been very satisfied with Priority Mail....I have found it to be a great service at a great price...

No complaints here either, Priority mail has always worked like clockwork for me too.

Great service that gets there faster & cheaper than UPS or Fedex.

UPS's tracking is laughable, most of the time doesn't update until after I get the fricken thing anyways. It's just too slow. So while yes, when you do ship the 7-day ground option you usually have a fairly decent of idea when you're going to get a package, 2-day and less is absolutely worthless.

Fedex seems a lot better at tracking reliably and up-to-date.

I use USPS for all semi-small packages, and Fedex for the large ones (I ship pre-built servers to various datacenters I have equipment at). Seems to be about the cheapest way to go.

Phil2: Good point. Didn't think of that way. Yeah most of the time I do get ground.

So what can I do about a package that seems.... well lost in the mail. Call USPS and ask?

Fedex tracking OWNS. UPS tracking seems to me to be better than USPS, but I've only sent my first USPS item today. Their system is slow and backed up, however, updating infrequently.

I order some cologne from perfumemart.com and they shipped it on Sept 28th and I still haven't gotten it. They shipped it from Pasadena, CA and it's heading to MN (I hope!)
Don't have the slightest clue of what's going on. The delivery status just says:

Your item was accepted at 3:26 pm on September 28 in PASADENA CA 91105.

ARGH!

This is what mine says:
Your item was accepted at 5:19 pm on October 2 in CITY OF INDUSTRY CA 91715. It is enroute to its delivery destination.

Some I have same exact "ARGH" as you :)

From the email I got saying that the product was shipped:

Shipping Times after order is shipped:

Free Priority Mail takes 2 - 3 days but is not guaranteed.

I used to use Priority for all my eBay selling. For its price and speed, it's a great deal. That is, untill you add on insurance and "tracking." Then UPS and FedEx don't seem so bad.

I've lost a number of packages through USPS, including a $70 mobo + CPU combo, 3 NetFlix DVDs, a bunch of CDs, and most recently a D-link DI-804 router.

Needless to say, I use FedEx and UPS a lot more often now.

Sheesh!! Sounds like your mailman has a nice computer sitting at his house. I've never lost anything that was shipped via USPS

I have a priority package that was mailed on the 5th that's not here yet. And I once had an outgoing priority package that didn't make it's destination until 10 days later. But other thank these two incidents my experience has been pretty good with the USPS.

ARGH... I hope it's a delay too. I've always been strongly for USPS and have never had trouble with it until 2 weeks ago. I bought some stuff in the FS/FT forum and the items were shipped out 9/29 and 10/5. I already got the 10/5 package but the 9/29 stuff has yet to be seen. Hopefully none of the stuff I sent out this past week is having problems:<

Priority mail is just messed up right now. USPS uses commercial passenger planes to transport cargo, but the FAA only allows letter mail to go on the airlines at this time, so packages either go on a chartered cargo plane, Fedex plane, or by ground. USPS's ground system is not well designed so delays can be enormously long. Hang in there and blame bin-laden for the mess.

USPS is great. I prefer it over UPS now. FedEx is the best but very expensive.

I ordered something from Amazon to get to Canada via UPS (I know its not USPS!) and we are now waiting on the 8th week. I am unsure as to whether its lost or not. The USPS global priority/express I sent out yesterday has my passport in it so that would be bad if it gets lost. Very bad!

USPS does not offer package tracking, only DELIVERY confirmation or Sigature Confirmation. There is a difference. I hate it when people try to compare DC to UPS or FedEx's Tracking.

I've never had any problems with USPS PM or FedEx. I've had problems with UPS, but since I've moved, they've gotten TONS better...only one lost delivery in the past 4 months (Hey, they used to lose almost every other one that was delivered to my old house...I think my deliveryman had sticky fingers)!
