USPS kicks so much butt

Ordered some items for my motorcycle on Friday around midnight. From California. I live in Virginia. It arrived TODAY!! (Monday) And this is simply via Priority Mail. I have NEVER had anything coming from CA arrive in less than 5 days, usually it takes an entire week. Over the weekend no less! Simply awesome. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, UPS!

Insurance is really expensive on expensive items.

I had a Priority package take 10 business days to get to me from Oklahoma to VA, just last week. I also just had a package shipped to me via Parcel Post (which I hate more than anything), I'm guessing that'll take a month to reach me thanks to it being the holiday season. For the most part Priority and First Class are pretty good though.

Hmmm, USPS Priority Mail can take 2 business days across the continental US, but it will be quite a bit more than FedEx Ground/Home.
USPS moves their stuff Monday - Sat whereas FedEx moves only Monday - Friday, but FedEx Home/certain Express will deliver on Sat.
UPS on the other hand is very similar to FedEx/Airborne on the delivery times except when you ship using UPS it is more expensive than FedEx/Airborne (unless you have some special deal/contract). Also, UPS packages tend to be more banged up during transit than FedEx/Airborne and even USPS. Personally I don't use UPS at all as they are more expensive with worse service.
When I ship anything 3 lbs. and under, I use USPS (Priority). Anything else, I use FedEx, but for cross continental U.S I like to use USPS Priority as it will take 2-3 days as opposed to 5 days with FedEx Ground/Home.

If your priority mail takes more than 3 days to get from sender to receiver, your postal office has some really lazy !@#$%&^

If you can fit a 100lb item in USPS's flat rate box, you still pay the $8 they charge for it anywhere in US.

It would have to be a block of steel to be 100 lbs

I shipped something USPS Priority Saturday morning and it arrived in BFE Wisconsin on Monday.

Not bad for $4.30 with DC 🙂

If the USPS didn't make me wait forever when I visit the post office, I would use them exclusively, their price/performance ratio is definitely worth it IMO. 🙁

You can get refund if it doesn't not arrive 2 - 3 days I believe.

My friend has done this before, yes a big block of steel. He went to the PO with it boxed up, would have paid something like $50, opted not to send right then. He spied the box and asked for the dimensions... sure enough, it would fit right in with a little to spare on two sides. A bit of newspaper later, he had sent a ~75lb steel block for eight bucks.

Yeah there is a wait but it's usually 10-15 minutes which I can deal with.

Still waiting almost 3 weeks later for FedEx to get my package to me... I assumed it would only take a few days considering I thought it would be a high traffic route... Montreal to Toronto..... So far they've let me down.

10-15 minutes!?! :Q

I'm so jealous RossMAN; maybe it's the poor attitude I see at my local post office, but everytime I step in there, it feels like an hour wait! 🙁
