Does the USPS free forwarding service forward your normal mail like bills, letters etc to the new address your moving to please?

they forward all mail
packages and so forth not sure, i knwo they have their forwardning service where they will forward ALL mail not just certified mail for $10 a week

Priority / First-Class is forwarded for 12 months, at no charge, as long as the sender did not place a non-forwarding endorsement on the mailpiece. During months 13-18 the mail is returned to sender with the new address. This information is retained for only 18 months. After 18 months, all address data is purged from USPS computers and the mail is simply returned to the sender endorsed ?Forwarding Order Expired?.

Express Mail pieces receive the same expedited treatment if being forwarded as they normally do; however, the delivery guarantee is void. Express Mail is forwarded for 12 months as long as the sender did not place a non-forwarding endorsement on the mailpiece. During months 13-18 the mail is returned to sender with the new address.

Magazines and newspapers are forwarded for 60 days, at no charge.
After 60 days, The Computerized Forwarding System will handle the periodical based on the type of Change Of Address the customer has on file: Temporary COA - The CFS will dispose of the periodical. Permanent COA - The CFS will return the periodical to the sender with the new address information.

Standard Mail is forwarded only with special endorsements from the mailer.

Package Service Mail (includes parcel post, library mail, bound printed matter, media mail), with no endorsement, is forwarded locally for 12 months at no charge. Additional forwarding charges are paid by you if you move outside the local area (includes packages weighing 16 ounces or more not mailed as Priority Mail).
