Usining Norton Antivirus withouit installing it?

Because the NAV is quite resource hungry, I First install it over my WIN 98 SE OS, create Five diskette, and uninstall the NAV.

I prepare a batch file and programming in such a way that using the batch file, I occasionaly check virus using these programme.

Here my problem is how to upgrade these defenition dikettes without installing NAV all over again?
any suggestions?

Would it be better to just keep it installed and just inactivate it if you don't want to use it all the time? That way you can still download the updates. Personally, though I think you should keep it on all the time and see if there are other programs running in the background that you can turn off.
