Using youtube, etc without flash!

Does anyone else here use youtube without flash but instead windows media player or vlc player ? Is it really any better ? I don't think you even need to install flash player! Not really sure if you can use the internet though without flash. Some sites may require it.

Chrome does not have the add ons that I need. My greasemonkey scripts don't work either.

In the past I've used youtube-dl to download the videos then watch them in mplayer but not often.

I prefer watching youtube videos in a media player itself as well. I just wish you could put any media player on the youtube site, like flash player, instead of having to download the whole video first. Anyway KMPlayer ftw! There is nothing you can't play or do with that media player.
