Does anybody know what is going on with this problem?
I finally got my LAN and DSL connection sharing working with XP on this client box. Shutdown and went to W2k to set it up (same box, dual boot). When i went back to XP, I can use the internet, browse with either Opra or IE6.0, but when i login to any site, either it is not recognized or I cannot login in.
When i try to access my hotmail account, I enter my name and pw, but cannot go to the site.
Same here at Anandtech, can enter name and pw, but get message saying credentials are not valid.
When i do same with W2k (same machine), no problem, as having to do thru w2k now to type this post.
I am thinking I have a trashed XP o/s. I have set all the security and brouse settings in IE the same (W2k and XP).
edit: only problem about trashed o/s is that everything else works ok, can browse Inet ok but can't login to sites requiring name and pw with xp, only w2k.
