LOL!

ScottyB, wait until nVIDIA releases their NV30, then pick one up. It will be able to render your 3D scenes far faster than any CPU. Besides, the hardware in your Xbox is far less powerful than what you have in your computer (save for your graphics card, which doesn't render 3D scenes.....yet ;)).

While it won't be much of a help, being only a P3 in there, it may be possible now or eventually to help render. I haven't kept up with the current consoles, but let's say that Linux is able to run on the Xbox. Softimage XSI (the software I use) has a linux render client. Compiled correctly you could use this to help render if the version of Linux on the Xbox is capable of addressing such things as proper lan environments etc. I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this down the line. Of course whether or not the software you are using has a linux client is another question.

And yeah, with the advent of the Radeon 9700 and the soon to be NV30 you can in fact now render scenes in hardware at a much faster rate than current CPUs are able. I think ATIs website has more info.

EDIT: I called the NV30 the R300
