Using Wireless, Dial Up and LAN On One Machine

Just got a new laptop for the wife. XP Pro, built-in wireless (802.11b), modem and nic.
When it's in the docking station it will be on the LAN (nic).
In the backyard, on the wireless.
In a hotel, on dial up.
The problem is that once I installed the dial up, it won't connect on wireless. The LAN still works.
Under "Tools" - "Internet Options", "Connections" I have it set to "Never dial a connection".
I have the LAN set to "Auto".
In Network Places, the wireless is enabled and working. But if I try to connect to the internet I get "Cannot find server or DNS error.
How can I make them play nicely together?
TIA

Update
If I uninstall the dial up, the wireless connection works.

I have a Laptop with DialUp (PCMCIA Modem), Wireless 802.11b + (D-Link PCMCIA), and Ethernet via the USB port using SMC Ethernet to USB adaptor (a $20 gizmo).

I installed all drivers and configure (set to never DialUp).

I can use each one of the connections (one at the time) no change in any basic setting necessary.

If every thing is configured correctly I would say that that the docking station is the Culprit.

BTW. I gave up on docking stations. Docking station made sense when Desktop were expensive and networking was not a household phenomenon. In these days when you can get fast plain vanilla, network ready computer for few hundred $$ there is no real value for Docking. I rather put another small Desktop than a Docking station.

are you using any 3rd party software for the wireless or dial up? or is windows managing all the connections?

This setting as describe above is used to access few networks that are in different locations but set the same way (SSID etc. are not default but are the same) I did not try to log to a "foreign" network. If I have to, I probably will try to install NetSwticher.

I haven't used the docking station yet. I just plugged the cable into the laptop.
I guess it's a configuration issue.

My wife has the machine at work right now. I'll check it when she get home.
But my laptop does the same thing. I uninstalled the dial up and the wireless works fine.
On mine it is.

Are you using the Windows Wireless Configuration Utility or a seperate wireless LAN utility to configure the settings? I've had a lot of trouble using the Windows one and have always used a seperate one. (On my cousins computer it was under Accessories -> Communications or something) The weird thing is I don't have that seperate one on either of my 2 WinXP computers preinstalled, but it came with my wireless usb adapter, so you may/may not have it on your computer. (I can send it to you if you don't)

Whenever your wife gets back under the Wireless Network Status click Support. Make sure her IP Address and Subnet are correct. (I'm just taking wild guess but maybe her dialup connection foobared those settings, which is why you're connected on the LAN (via Workgroup/SSID) but can't connect to the internet)

I let XP Pro handle the set up.
I upgraded my laptop from ME to Pro (as we talked about before) last night and I don't have as many dropped connections but neither machine wants to work wirelessly with a dial up installed.
