Using Windows only on a Macbook

I'm a bit conflicted with using my Macbook with Windows. Every attempt something stupid would happen.

The last time it was my battery. Something whacky happened with the battery drivers which caused my fans to go nuts, I had to pull the battery out of the machine and run it that way. I don't know if I should stick with XP or use Vista. I have choices between using Pro, Windows 2003, Vista business, and Server 2008. I love OS X but I prefer using Windows because I like Visual Studio.

Another gripe with Windows is it's a pain in the ass to use an external monitor. Every time I lift the lid on my laptop it would ignore the monitor or display a mirror or something goofy.

windows 7 is close to what vista ought to be in the first place, it runs better in my vmware fusion on the hackintosh than vista 64 does without emulation
