Using Windows 8 Mail app with Gmail 2 Factor?

I seem to be having trouble getting the Windows 8 Mail app working with my Gmail account that uses 2 factor.

I enter my email and password, but it's not getting to the point where it want me to enter my application-specific password?

It just fails saying the email address or password didn't work. Double check and try again.

Same account works ok in my Chrome browser after I used Authenticator.
 
When you enter your email and password, just give it your application-specific password. There's no need to enter your "base" gmail password.
