You want it to look precisely like Win2000, or just close? The Windows Classic theme that comes with WinXP isn't too far off...

If you want it to look exactly like Windows 2000, then use Windows 2000. I have no idea why the Classic non-theme isn't good enough (maybe combine it with some Windows 2000 icons from a theme site).

You don't need to download it. Go into the "Service" and turn off the THEME SUPPORT.
As to why use XP with Windows2000 looks. The Response time is MUCH faster on my Notebook with Intel Extreme2 buildin graphics.
All the beautiful menu backdrops in XP Theme does incurred a noticabily slower response time.

For better performance with the classic theme, go to the Display Properties, Appearance tab, and click on Effects... Disable shadows, menu fading, or whatever you don't want. :)

But does this turn it back to the Win2k look?

Yes. If you want to bitch about the little Windows flag in the XP start button not matching the little flag in the 2000 Pro start button, then you have some personal issues that you need to worry about before thinking of that. Just select the Classic "theme," disable visual effects of your choice in System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings, and be happy. :)
