Using Win2K Upgrade for Clean Install?

I`ve got a question. Just got Win2K Pro a few weeks back. I set it up first as a dual boot deal with 98Se with no
problems. Decided to go all Win2k, so I formatted c: and popped in the 2k disk just like I`ve done many times with
98 upgrade disks. Typed setup and got an error saying that "this cannot be run in DOS mode". This is with an upgrade 2kPro disk. What`s the deal with that?

Try enabling "boot from cd" in your bios.. Win2K can't be installed using a WinXX boot disc.. If your system can't boot from CD then you can make Win2K boot disk from your win2K cd..

Try booting from the CD-ROM drive.

If you use the 'upgrade' disk, at some point during the install it will ask for you to put a previous version of windows in the CD-ROM drive.

Also, if you can't boot from the CD-ROM drive, there's a way to make the 4 boot disks from the 2K CD - the procedure is in the manual.
