using Win 98SE Upgrade in Dos

Is it possible to start the Windows 98SE Upgrade (CD) in Dos? I tried going to <win98> and typing 'setup.exe', but it said that I required to be in Windows to use it. Is there any way around this?

There is a good reason why that happens. The 98SE Upgrade is not a stand alone installation because it is written to UPGRADE an existing Win98 already installed. To do it from DOS, you need the stand alone version of 98SE.

Check this out: 98SE

There is a long way around . . . first install regular 98FE and then upgrade it. 98FE should install from the DOS prompt.
