Using Vonage: Internet drops while on phone.

Amused

Elite Member
I'm using Vonage and when I'm on the phone, I have no internet. Internet comes right back up as soon as I hang up.

Otherwise everything works fine.

My VT1005v is behind my Linksys WRT54G.

I have forwarded these ports on my router:

53 UDP
69 UDP
80 UDP
123 UDP
5061 UDP
10000 - 20000 UDP

Any solutions?

Thanks!!!

I have a linksys vonage adapter. you should not need to do any port forwarding to get it to work. Did you add it trying to get it to work better?? What you need to get it to work good is QoS, but few home routers have that feature.
I actually had the VT1005v at one point.. doesn't it have 2 ethernet ports on it?? I believe you can connect a cable modem to the internet one and your router to the other port and your connection will go through... give that a try to see if it works. That will end up prioritizing the Vonage stuff first and everything else second
