using two different drives with RAID

I've been looking around for somewhere that sells the hard drive I have for a good price, and though I found it at buy.com.

it's a Maxtor 30gb 7200rpm ATA100, same as my current one. the problem is, the model number is slightly different. the label on my hard drive says DiamondMax 45, the one at buy.com is a DiamondMax 60. would this difference cause any problems in a RAID array? I don't think the specs are any different, but you never know...

you can use 2 different drivse but the total array will be twice the *smallest* drive...

so if you have a 30gb and a 30.5gb the extra .5gb will go unused, but yea it will work

the drives are the same size, both 30gb 7200rpm ATA100 drives. the difference is the model number and name. I read somewhere else that someone had a problem using two different drives because the memory used in one drive was made by a different manufacturer or something, which caused problems with RAID. both the drives I'm looking at are Maxtor's, but I don't know if the same parts are used in each
