Using tv as monitor problem

hi i have a ati radeon 9600xt and im trying to view my computer on my tv using the svideo out on the card...i have done this successful in the past but with this card i get a screen but its in black and white....i have it in ntsc mode so i know its not that...i have an adapter connecting to composite instead of svideo...any ideas on what my problem could be? thx

Try a different s-video cable. I have had similar problems with low quality s-video cables in the past.

A TV monitor is not a good way to view you computer output. The tubes in most TV's have a very long persistance phosphor to deal with the 30 Hz refresh rate so they can't deal well with any quick changed from our computer's vid output.

They don't know the difference, the analog PC TV output is the same 480i (NTSC) signal they are used to seeing.

Black and White means you losing the color component of the video signal. Has to be the output standard, signal cable or adaptor.
