Using the Vista Upgrade CD for a Clean Install

Does anyone know or has anyone tried this recently?

I read an article comparing an upgraded and clean installed machine and the difference was negligible. I'm still deciding which route I should go so any advice is welcome..

I did a clean install on my Toshiba Laptop from the anytime upgrade disk about a three weeks ago. I had to call MS to activate, but other than that I had absolutely no problem.

It worked for me last week. I purchased an OEM MCE w/ an upgrade to Vista before Vista was released. I waited until I built my new system. It installed clean without a hitch and activated over the internet with no need to call MS.

Just did an install two days ago. Even if MS did something since then you could always install without plugging in the network cable.
