I have a Freezer 64 Pro heatsink http://www.arctic.ac/us_en/freezer-64-pro-pwm.html
However, the socket retention bracket looks like
Seems to me that having only one 'prong' on each side to hold this heatsink is asking too much...
This is the bracket it was installed on before:
I was curious if anyone has attempted it before, and how long did it last?
And, since the socket holes are not the same between socket retention brackets, I can't just swap in the older 3 prong ones on the newer AM3 style boards unless I get the drill out.
I sent a e-mail to the Arctic cooling guys, but, they haven't responded yet, no idea if they sell alternate clips for the heatsink or not, since their newer heatsinks seems to use the same base, just a different clip.
